About

Hey Guys!

My name is Jim and I have always had a passion for working out, pouring sweat and pushing myself to my limits.

Growing up I played baseball, basketball, soccer and lacrosse. Soccer was my bread and butter until an incident during lacrosse season. Just before our first game of the year I had the ball going down the field about to take my shot when I got hit from the side. It was the worst pain I had ever felt and it turns out I separated my leg tearing my ACL. I had surgery and what felt like a year of rehab but my knee was never the same afterwards. From then on my sports career was over, but I always loved working out. I remember being in my room as a kid, feet underneath the dresser doing sit-ups, seeing how many pushups I could do and repping out barbell and dumbbell bicep curls.

Today I’m in my early 40’s married with 4 crazy kids. I have belonged to numerous gyms  but with a full-time job and taking care of 4 kids it got harder and harder to find the time to get there. I have acquired a few exercise items  over the years to use at home but once COVID hit I decided I really wanted to start building a home gym. Over a couple years I started researching  and buying equipment. I would try to figure out how to assemble pieces together to perform a specific exercise while lacking the expensive equipment or performing an exercise differently because I didn’t have that specific piece of equipment. I started building my garage gym on a budget but also trying to maintain good quality, and I’m far from done. But I would like to share with you my ideas, experiences, and opinions based on what I have acquired and if you have anything to share I’d like to hear from you.

Fitness is a lifelong journey, enjoy it!

Keep Raising the Bar, Jim
